Monica Compton, CMP, has 15 years experience as a strategic event marketing consultant and corporate meeting planner.  She holds the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation which recognizes a senior level of experience among her colleagues.  Her background ranges from the implementation of large-scale global leadership meetings for Fortune 100 companies, such as Ford Motor Company and Hewlett-Packard, to intimate training seminars and sales incentives. 

Compton’s career in events management began as the Director of Special Events for a North American concert promoter and producer.  In this role she gained strategic marketing experience in the buying of television, radio and print advertising.  Her affinity for creative writing garnered a position in producing media spots and press releases for world-renown musicians and entertainment artists.

Her subsequent experience as vice president of a motor sports marketing and special events agency allowed her to hone her skills in the corporate realm.  Compton has managed the logistical requirements for C-level (CEO, CIO) programs in a variety of industries.  Her wide-breadth of experience ranges from the management of intimate sales incentive programs for 30 winners and their spouses, to specialist operations for large-scale global meetings for over 7,500 delegates.

Compton’s tactical and strategic skills are especially prevalent in international planning.  She has managed hotel contract obligations for 11 hotels in North America and Europe and oversaw logistical operations for a variety of corporate meetings and events in Mexico, Brazil, England, France, Monaco, Australia and Japan. 

Compton is a business owner of Pinnacle Productions Inc., a full-service meeting and events planning agency, and also serves as Director of Advertising, Government Advocacy and Community Outreach of Meeting Professionals International, Georgia Chapter.  Compton is an accomplished writer and a trained journalist.  She worked as a reporter for a Pulitzer-prize winning newspaper and has been published in numerous industry magazines.  She is currently writing her first novel.
